Cantell & Co was established with one aim in mind; to put the client at the centre of our business. We have built our agency with values that are underpinned by integrity. We chose a keystone as our logo because it embodies our structural honesty. We are a privately owned estate agency and deliver a professional service but in a personal way. While our experiences reflect decades of real, local knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the broader sector, it is our passion for people and property that motivates us. We listen. We never presume.
We established Cantell & Co in 2013 to do things differently, concentrating on delivering a meticulous, honest and professional service. Now in our 8th year, I can say with certainty that ‘different’ works; Richmond and the surrounds appreciate our client centric approach and promoting Richmond to our buyers is easy having lived here for the last 16 years. In 2019 we were rated the Best Estate Agent Branch in Great Britain (sales & lettings) by Rightmove and the Property Academy ahead of all of the multi-nationals and other privately owned businesses. We endeavour to maintain that standard, whilst growing our team and reputation. Having been in agency for the last 19 years, I am fortunate to know some great estate agents and have the best ones working alongside me. And in 2020 we decided to commit even more to the business – having just operated from one floor, we took over the whole of the building. We will continue to invest in the business and look forward to helping even more people achieve their dream of moving to a new house.

Our team appreciate that whilst we are open to new ways of working, our high standards remain our priority. If we feel that we cannot help with a sale or let and have nothing of merit to offer, we decline the business – it may appear counter-intuitive, but reputation is everything. Our commitment to a consistent approach in 2020 resulted in us selling 44.3% of houses sold in TW10 6 according to Rightmove – our nearest rival sold 14.8%. David and I look forward to the next few years.
I became an estate agent in 2005 – starting my career with David in Battersea. I came full circle, 4 years ago and joined Anissa & David at Cantell & Co; having seen what they had achieved as a team of two, I believed that I could enhance and help progress the business. Having worked with both of them before, I knew it would be a collaborative endeavour with all of the team committed to similar values. Knowing that I influence change in real time rather than having to wait for a committee style decision is refreshing. Our approach is the antithesis of most agents – we achieve fantastic results for our clients by paying close attention to what they and our purchasers really want – a good deal is struck when both parties are happy. We are specialists in Richmond and the surrounding areas, we sell very large family homes on Richmond Hill, alongside the cottages to first time buyers. There is rarely a dull day!
Head of Lettings
I started in agency in Kew over 20 years ago, starting in sales and swiftly progressed to lettings. I had been at one agency in Richmond for over 10 years when David & Anissa approached me to join as their Head of Lettings in 2019. I was working for a large, regimented company, so being offered a role in which I have the freedom to act and an involvement in how the company is run, was a motivating opportunity. I have complete autonomy to give a first-class service to my clients. Following the company ethos is easy, we endeavour to help create the kind of unified community we all aspire to belong to and the way in which we conduct business reflects this. Over the years I seen the legislative landscape change and it has always been my pleasure to talk this through with landlords and tenants, this is part explains my very strong relationships with landlords and tenants alike.
I first came across Cantell & Co as a buyer having been looking for a number of years for the perfect family home. I found David and Anissa really helpful and having dealt with all of the local estate agents, their honesty was refreshing. As I had seen so many properties in my long search and had an insight as to what made a good agent, they invited me to join Cantell and Co as Saturday staff, manning the phones and registering buyers – my own experience has proved invaluable. I soon became a negotiator and work as often as I am able as my two girls are still at primary school here in Richmond. I have the experience and understanding of the importance of catchment areas and really understand what each different school locally has to offer.
We are small and agile; fast to adapt to our clients’ needs and swift to spot where support is most needed. These are the credentials of a modern service. We regard your sale as our priority and we will always deliver our best advice. Our bottom line is important to us but is not our top priority. We believe that your estate agent should be a local one. We have lived in Richmond for more than 12 years and we know the area right down to the day on which the bins are collected. We can even recommend a great restaurant for that moment when the movers have left and you are too exhausted to cook. Our team live here and are accountable.
